About the Author
James E. Mazur obtained his B.A. in Psychology from Dartmouth College in 1973, and his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Harvard University in 1977. He taught at Harvard University as an assistant professor and associate professor from 1980 to 1988, and since then he has taught at Southern Connecticut State University, where he is a CSU Professor of Psychology. He has conducted research on operant conditioning and choice for over 35 years. He has published over 60 journal articles and chapters on such topics as reinforcement schedules, conditioned reinforcement, self-control, risk-taking, procrastination, and mathematical models of choice.

Clear and succinct

I like this book because it's pretty readable--for a textbook. Lots of examples that make difficult terminology a breeze to understand. I also have the author as my professor, so it's really helpful to read this text, since most of the course content comes directly from its pages! Overall, not a bad read for a graduate level textbook!

I actually really enjoy this textbook mainly because Mazur writes in a very informal style that is easy to read and understand. Also, I should not that concepts are clearly organized and subjects build on top of each other logically....both of which are very good things (and which are hard to come by in many textbooks).
