If you love Currywurst...

I bought this on the recommendation of a friend. It's a wonderful story of life and unexpected love in the last days of WW II in the most beautiful city in the world, Hamburg. And if you love Currywurst this will be a delightful story to think about when you eat your favorite fast food.

Es ist eine wundervolle Geschichte vom Leben und von unerwarteter Liebe in den letzten Tagen des Zweiten Weltkriegs in der sch�nsten Stadt der Welt, Hamburg. Und wenn Sie Currywurst m�gen, dann ist dies eine entz�ckende Geschichte die Ihren Lieblingsimbiss noch verz�ckender macht.

I really loved this book. I was forced to read it in my German class but we got to a point where I actually wanted to keep reading, and read ahead of the class. It's not just nonfiction as the title suggests. It really is a beautiful story.

The only good thing about this book concerns the fact that the backgropund information has been thoroughly searched. However, the stile is flat, the content way too much drawn out. Boring is the best word to chracterize this book. Und hier fur deutche Leser: Das einzig Gute an diesem Buch ist die sorgfaltige Darstellung des historischen Hintergrundes. Doch der Stil ist seicht, die Handlung unnotig lang hingezogen. Das Buch ist schlicht und einfach langweilig.
